Money and time, or time and money --- neither of which I have much of....:(

Years and years ago I applied for an "architectural model builder" position with a guy that was literally building them out of his garage. He employed 2-3 people and they built the proposal models for several architectural firms in Arizona. The guy persuaded me that the job was not for me, as it paid nothing and the only reason he had the guys working for him that he did, is because they just really liked building models and had no other aspirations in life --- LOL.

But this looks to be really high end work. Would love to see it in person. Interesting website, and always cool to see models used in films. One can always capture a few ideas from builds like this.

I remember seeing these a few years back, I think they made them for employees? Be nice to have one!

They built 22 of them, just waiting for one to pop-up on Ebay!!

And now with both the Alco RS's and the EMD SW's, you can use those for certain time periods too.

Hide a switch in the back main building to use the inner track as well.

I know the layout well. I photographed one of the samples many years ago. We ran an article on it in the September/October 2017 issue of Ztrack. One really interesting feature is the loco and cars. AZL did a special run of GP38s and Bethgon Hoppers all letter for the Sugar company. If you are an AZL collector.. these are the rare of the rare. I want to think the run was less than 50 locos. I did QC all before we shipped them on. I would love to have one of these layouts to incorporate into a larger layout!

Steve's Z Layouts had a booth at the Texas NTS a couple weeks ago. He sells smaller shorty layouts:
