I finally was able to reviewed the photos and culled them down to 539 photos from this past weekend's N-Scale Weekend in Altoona, PA. I had to run to the office to get a faster broadband but even then it took over an hour to upload. The pictures took 3.25 GB!

What a weekend it was! Lots of layouts, lots of trains, lots of running, lots of friends, lots of deals (FVM was there selling their heritage units for $75 each) and that pig roast!

Thanks to Mike Phillips for putting on a well run and organized event. I even got a door prize (FireFly FRED and met the inventor himself)! A side trip to the Railroaders Museum and Horseshoe Curve really topped it off.

I have grouped the photos by the following "Themes". Once you get to my website, if you click on the photo once it is displayed full screen you get an even bigger size (super full screen?) for easier viewing.

Railroaders Museum and Horseshoe Curve (164 photos)

Our club has participated in all of the Bedford/Altoona N Scale Weekends with the only exception being the first one. We were late in applying and got shut out. But though we did not set up a layout the club members all attended and we decided then and there to be in the next one. So it has thus continued year after year for the last twelve years. It is a fun event to be sure. It is a long standing tradition with our club that we do not accept honorariums from non profit organizations such as volunteer fire depts., churches, model RR clubs, etc. We prefer that our honorarium go to support the fire dept, church, model RR club or a local charity. For the last twelve years we have donated our honorarium from the Altoona event to the various charities chosen by The N Scale Weekend Event staff. Our honorarium was included with the monies generated from the attendees who participated in the auction. We encourage other clubs who can do so to also engage in such charitable activity to help those less fortunate than ourselves. This year the beneficiary was the Shriner Children's Hospital of Erie, PA.

P.S. Great photos Mike and thank you for your efforts in documenting the event. You even managed to get me in a few of them!

No problem! I really didn't know who was who. I just snapped away. I guess as I attend more and more I'll figure out their online names. LOL!

Does anybody know who or what company was selling the Kress carrier trucks and bottle cars?
I'd love a couple for a steel mill in the works, have three blast furnaces but will look real sparse without good details like these.
    Thanks for the photos Mike!!
