Hey John, are we gonna have another steam photo contest here? I'm ready. I think I did this one once or twice before, but I love it. Got UP 2-8-8-0, 4-12-2 and a couple of Challengers. Taken in the 1940's in Cheyenne.

Dick, isn't that a great picture? I can still hear my mom cursing the New York Central hoggers for highballing through town while her sheets were hanging out on the line to dry. Covered with cinders. Also reminded me every time we go visit daugher No. 1 in Kingman, have to cross the "Holy Moses Wash" on I-40 about 1/2 mile from where Santa Fe 4-8-4 3759 is on display.

    Hey Fitz.........
If you like we can get another "Steam Fest" going on! Like the ole "Virginian" steam one we had a few moths ago! I know of thousands of steam pictures and just as many diesels pictures online to post!

As you all know.. Specially Wayne and yourself Jim.. I'm big on steam.... Coal, water and Fire plus alot of cinders.... The more the merrier :D Unless you like the ole "Flyin Fish Wagons" (I believe thats the saying) Or was it the ole "Flyin Dutch Wagons"?

OK John, I'm always game. Just hope I don't duplicate the ones from the last goaround. Since I mentioned 3759, here she is a couple of years ago as displayed in Kingman, AZ, a real Santa Fe hotbed in steam days.

And the this is what Mike K (6206_S1a) Calls a "Big Six" These were the B&O's 2-10-2's... The nick name "Big Six" was given to them by the trainmen of those loco's for one, they were BIG and for 2 the cab number always began with "6"

THIS one's for Lady Sunshine, because this engine was a lady. 5444, one of the New York Central's J-3 Hudsons. She looks good with those Scullin Disc Drivers. The photograph is from the Al Paterson collection, courtesy of Terry Link (Canada Southern).

    Yes Jim,ya goofed.
5444 was never streamlined and was a hard one to find pictures of, as was MY engine 5330 and your 5315.
The shot of 5444 was taken during a short time in her life when she had the Scullin drivers as she was built with box pok and had them later as well.
It was sent to me by Terry Link and was shot in Detroit in 1939.
I have it as wall paper on my computer and she runs on my O scale layout as a Lionel product :D

My apologies to Terry Link for not accrediting him for that great photo of NYC Hudson 5444. In a sincere effort to avoid mistakes, I will post a shot of a Santa Fe 2900 series 4-8-4. John, if you like the 3700's, the 2900's are brutes, much heavier and bigger. Fortunately there are two which stand a real chance of running again, the 2912, being restored by the Pueblo Locomotive and Railroad Historical Society, and 2926, being restored by a group in Albuquerque, NM. This photo is from the collection of Harold K. Vollrath. Gee if I can spell Albuquerque, how come I'm making so many mistakes?  [IMG]
Turns out I misspelled Al bu kerkee after all and had to go edit this.
