Paul, What did you make the pipe loads from? To me, they look like straws cut to fit?? Don't have that many gons, but now I've got an idea for maybe 1-2 cars. Looks good!
"Dave, how about a lock on the train room door, with only one key?" It had a lock, but I removed the door to make the room more accessible. Boy, did I ever! The main challenge is that I don't want to remove the lift-out unless I have to, so removing the door is the only other way to have access. I'm thinking of trading my son for some SD... oh, never mind.
We tried using the movie mode of my friend's camera, but the colors of movies taken at the museum were terrible. There's a red shift in their energy saving light bulbs that really confuses a sensor. I just ordered a new web cam for movies, should be here in a week. I'll be saving the movies straight to my hard disk, and if I can get the WIFI password at the museum figured out I can post in real time! We're running again at the Museum in 2 weeks, so it should be here by then. I think we'll need a new thread, "Movies of N Scale Unit Trains!" Tony Burzio San Diego, CA
Don't know wether this belongs in the Unit Train thread or the "SP Moment thread", but here goes. Chased the loaded Oil Cans over the Tehachapis today. Here are some pictures I took at tunnel #5 at the West end of Cliff Siding. Head end... ...mid train helpers... ...and the rear. More poctures of the chase can be seen here: Oil Can's
Isn't there a thread on these tank cars? How did you finish this many this soon? This is a miracle happening right here!!
The miracle of suggestion. There are actually only 10 cars built so far. Add the tunnel, some helpers, and the right positioning you get some pretty cool pictures. There might be 100 cars in that train but you can't tell from the pictures, pretty sneaky huh! Brian
wow this was 5 pages back.... time to bring it forward. firstly I have to say I love that tank train. Again, a job well done Brian. Went down to Syd N scale with Jason, snapped this shot of 3 C&NW AC44's on a grain train rolling through Port.
Here's one of a 1950's Santa Fe ice refrigerator train climbing eastbound toward Tehachapi Loop's Tunnel 9. Already on the Loop, running ahead of the reefer train, is the the eastbound San Francisco Chief. The action was taken on Dave Nenna's N scale Tehachapi Loop layout: http://community.webshots.com/album/390167838jeEPYp Thx, Dave!
Beast; I love the shot you took. It makes me feel like I'm right there at track side. How many ore cars are you pulling? MOPHEAD
This is all I have right now. After seen all the great trains and not to mention layouts I had to post something.
Excellent shots guys, John, You probably have seen more layouts across America than anybody else I know thats an excellent unit train running. Richard, We all had start like you and even if it is a couple of cars it still looks good. In years to come you will look back and see how far you have progressed. Look forward to seeingmore pics.
