    Paul, is the shay 1:1 or G scale? It looks great! Is that you engineering it across the tressle? Good job. :D

    Hi Watash,
    I wish it were 1 to 1 scale and that WAS me in the cab, but I'm just going to have to be happy with my HO version instead.

    Great job Paul! Did you have to take it all apart to paint and weather it?

    Yours is a different model from mine .. my 3 truck shay came with the safety valves and whistle on top of the steam dome .. and sadly, it arrived with the whistle broken off and found laying in the bottom of the plastic tray :(

    Anywhy, when I get the nerve to try and drill out the place where the whistle goes and glue it back, I would like to weather and detail it too. [​IMG]

    Hi Bill,
    Only the bodies came off for the paint job and weathering, I didn't fancy putting much weathering on the motion, so I just drybrushed some mixed up rust coloured crayon with a little water. Loads of kitchen cloth later, it was done.
