While heading towards OKC yesterday, I took a detour on Hwy 77 out of Pauls Valley that parallels I-35 hoping to spot some trains.

Found this BNSF pair working the local just outside of Pauls Valley with a great looking first generation merger green and white scheme, and just a bit further up where the mainline comes back to Hwy 77, I caught this BNSF
double stack heading southbound towards Texas which is actually the same mainline that runs by my house in Krum.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Neat to see that whiteface with the original BNSF logo.

Are the cab side numbers original? I don't seem to remember anything with a round ended white background?

That BN unit is a really neat catch. That is one of BNSF schemes I really want to paint and N scale unit in. The BNSF did so many different variations of patch jobs, it's hard to keep them straight. The green numbers with the white oval background are definitely the result of a post merger BNSF renumbering project and several different types of units got this treatment but not all had the same long hood lettering.

BNSF FAN was thinking the same thing when I saw it. Would make a great addition to the roster.
