Is there any software that will do shipping destinations, pickup / delivery schedules, consist order, and also keep a roster of engines & cars ??? And do this for less then national debt ??
Yes. there is such. But am not certain that you'll find it all in one package. A popular waybilling program that I often hear named is "Ship It." I believe there is a web site. Also, I believe there is at least one or more web discussion groups out there on this type of operating. For rosters of cars and locos, I have been using a simple MS Works spread sheet for many years. Very easy to use. Boxcab E50
Shipit! is available at www.albionsoftware.com I use it and it's awesome! Besides DCC, it is the one thing that made my enjoyment of model railroading skyrocket. They have another product called Railbase Pro that is an in depth inventory (roster) program. It is very detailed, including keeping track of car maintenance, DCC decoder info, modifications, dollar value for insurance purposes, and much more. Honestly, I use Shipit Standard and it does everything I need, including keeping basic roster info. Shipit Standard is $94.95, and Railbase Pro is $44.95.
