I was just curious what operaing manuals we all have. Here are my operating manuals: 1)AC6000CW for UPRR 7010-7079. 1996 2)SD70MAC for BN. 1993 3)SD80MAC for Conrail 4100-4127. 1996 4)SD90MAC for UPRR 8000-8074. 1996 5)DASH 9-44CW for BNSF 960-1123. 1996 6)SD60M for BN 9200-9299. 7)DASH 8. 1989 8)SD60 for UPRR. No date. Here are my rule books: 1)Chicago and Northwestern 1994 2)Southern Pacific 1994 3)Norfolk Southern 1999
I don't have any for current companies. My few examples are for older, extinct operations. CCORs, instead of the GCOR version. Milw, GN, SP&S, NP, etc. 1959, 1967. Boxcab E50
I have a few UP manuals from myBro in law when he worked for the railroad. I also have a diesel manualand a switch diagram from the same railroad.
Some have mentioned that this might be a security issue, but I certainly disagree with that. As a pilot, I have operating manuals for all the airliners I have flown, and operating manuals for the USAF T-38, F-100, F4C, and F16A. The classified portion of those never left the secure vault on the base. Also, no one ever seems very interested in any of those anyway. They change and are updated all the time. Besides, just like the railroad, the aircraft are supposed to be secured or in a secure area. I don't think security is an issue at all. I have no operating manuals for trains. Except for the ones from Kato and Atlas! [edit] Wait! I have a Union Pacific RR San Antonio Area Timetable #2. October, 2000. It shows schedules, but for me, it also shows siding and location names. I use that for my model RR. Seems like I have another from 1970 around here, too. BTW, the sidings and locations still have the same names from 30 years ago. I bet that F-100 was fun as hell to fly! I'm a "Hun" fan from way back. I just like the way they look!
I have Operating Manuals of the NJT and Amtrak. And a whole big box full of loose stuff not being able to sort that out now . Also I have ALL european operating manuals in various versions. incl all high speed stuff. So if you have questions keep asking.
the only one i have is CN sd75i 5766-5800 [2 or 3 copies]... i also have the engine rebuild manual for the 710 engines.. i am suppose to be getting some engine manuals for the new es44dc units cn is getting, but who knows when i will get those...
When I read the thread title, I thought maybe we were talking actual operating manuals. I have 3, the EMD F7 (Oct.,1949), the EMD E9 (Sept., 1954), and an EMD GP40-2 (Dec., 1973). Maybe I should have brought my F7 manual when I ran WP F7 921-D at Portola!
I saw a operating manual for the ES44AC on eBay, but hesitated.....and missed out, of course. should have just snapped it up!LOL! I REALLY want a U50C or D manual, and a turbine manual, and a C855!LOL! I don't want much, I guess!
Look out bank account! Those should bring in a few dollars to a seller! If your luck is like mine, one will show up between paychecks.... Boxcab E50
I have an EMD 567D3, GE 7-series, EMD SD40-2, and EMD turbocharger manuals. I got the 567 manual at a local flea market for 2 bucks! If I had to have one, it'd be an SD40T-2 manual, as built for D&RGW. Otherwise, I have all I want. Now, railroad books; on the other hand, that's a different story!
Maybe a new thread here Jere,I know I could add a couple doz books to that list.I might add they be all DRGW/SP too.
I have a Key System rule book, a PRR rule book, a B & O.CT rule book, and my "working" rule books, The G.C.O.R (BNSF revision), The C.O.R.A. and the Safety Rules for BNSF and "Air Brake & Train Handling Rules" For BNSF. I also have some AMTRAK rules as pertains to the Chicago Terminal. I had to be qualified and examined on AMTRAK rules in order to work commuter train service. CT
We have the Santa Fe locomotive repair foilo, the Amtrack rules and the BNSF rules... And A man high stack of safety manuals Gunns
Have a few, including: Dep't of Operation Rule Book - 1968 Various DRGW ETT's, from 1988 back to about 1965. Have a generic GP30 operator manual, a 1957 EMD Model 567-C maintenence manual! And my favorite, a 1949 Operator manual for DRGW FT 540. Had them scanned a while back and now have a couple of these burned to CD. Rail Fair in Golden, Co several years ago could have gotten me an SP manual for the German built Krauss Maffei. [ December 14, 2005, 09:34 PM: Message edited by: Keith ]
