    Grant-

Just for fun, a few days ago, I began browsing for On30 sites and info.

I am a little disappointed, as what I am seeing, is primarily critters, and whimsical stuff.

Am wondering what you have found out there?

Might I suyggest that you just simply look around for narrow gauge sites (theres a ton of them)

As far as the sites being whimsical most narrow gauge diesels were critters to begin with (at least ase far as their looks went.)

If you want a serious 0n30 site might I suggest you start one of your own?

Well, unless you meant modeling sites, (which is what I have been doing), I'm just not quite certain looking for narrow gauge sites will do as far as any curiousity about On30.

My thoughts, albeit 36", were along the lines of the WP&Y D&RGW, or EBT. Which were not critters. But more toward "main line" diesel and steam operations.

Start an On3 site? Why? There are already plenty. I have enough to do on this infernal machine every day.

If you really want some interesting 30" gauge equipment, look south to Mexico. There was a mining operation that had box cab electric engines with pantographs for the overhead wire. Really cool looking. They were B-B trucked and ran in pairs. They had an electric switcher that rode on a B truck. There were some 30" steamers that are similar to Bachmann's 2-6-0. Rolling stock can be almost anything. As far as diesels go there are some interesting ones running in South America. The WP&Y shovel nose diesels would look good in On30. :D

Take a look at Boulder Valley Model's web site. I've seen at least one of their kits bilt up and they are very nice. Whimsical perhaps but I think that is part of the attraction of narrow gauge modeling. Boulder Valley Models

I have to agree that there is a ton of interesting narrow gauge sites out there in cyberspace particularly in HO.

    Boxcab E50,

I did some searching on the web and came up dry. After looking for two hours, I was cross-eyed. Anyway, I can shot a picture of the 30” gauge boxcab and e mail it to you. Since it is in a book and I don’t have the author’s permission to display his pictures, I hesitate to post it here.

I knew that company name sounded familiar! I know him from his N scale days of long ago. Was wondering where he'd gone.
