On30 Track Dimensions?

    Now I have produced some On30 kits, I am considering building a diorama (yeah, I know, could be the slippery slope to building a layout) :rolleyes:

    Anyone have suggestions for track dimensions, rail size (code #), ties and tie spacing? The ties on Peco O-16.5 track look rather short so I assume they should be longer for US narrow gauge.

    If I were doing it, the ties would be 8" X 8" by 6' to 6'-6" long (mix up your lengths) and top off with code 70 rail.

    Hi Alan,
    Yes the ties are a little short I agree. I shall spend some time shortly with my (0-16.5 Peco track & Points) and when they are buried in mud with only the rail showing, it will be hard to tell that the ties are in fact short.
