THE NYC TRANSIT MUSEUM IS SET TO REOPEN SEPT. 16TH. It has been closed for several years for renovation.
Here's a few good links for the museum: http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/mta/museum/ http://www.nycsubway.org/mus/nytm.html http://www.bera.org/cgi-bin/pnaerc-query.pl?sel_curown=New%20York%20Transit%20Museum
JT- Found what I was hoping to see via the second link you'd listed. I really like the way they have those car displays set up! An excellent way to showcase how they were found in an original environment! Boxcab E50
Boxcab, that's my favorite part of the museum! Walking through those cars is fantastic! I'm wondering what new and improved things are down there now.
I'm looking forward to a visit as well. I have not been there since I was knee high to a grasshopper and even then, the grasshoppers used to make fun! Russ
Grasshopper, I rode one of the first Nostalgia trains that the museum ran, way back in the year '76 which was their grand opening! The museum opened for the Bicenntenial.
