So, I am hearing that NS 8104, the Lehigh Valley, was the lead unit on NS 23G that hit a truck in Harrodsburg, KY yesterday. No pics but word is the crew is safe but the locomotive may have sustained a fair amount of damage. Can't confirm if it is that bad or not. Hopefully not and some pics will turn up soon. Not much in the news about it yet.

Oh no! Glad that the crew is okay. The highway truck is laying on its side in the photo, so the impact was indeed heavy. I hope the repair includes a repaint back to LV colors. I've seen this unit only once in May of 2015 and it was trailing. Cornell Red is a knockout color, but then again, I'm prejudiced. :)

When will people learn NOT to play chicken with 5000 tons of iron and steel!

Glad the crew is OK. Hoping damage to the unit is merely cosmetic?

Good news is that the 8104 is back in service and happily working in Richmond, IN this morning. Whew. I've not seen a photo since the collision.
