Hello everyone, glad to be here. I am wanting to build a N scale layout with my 7 year old son, at least thats my excuse, leaning towards a hollow door layout of some type. I think it will be a fantasy railroad with two or three related industries. Would like it to be DCC so my son and I can operate a couple of locomotives simultaneously. Found the Carolina Central Layout and searches led me here. Looks like a great place! Looking forward to getting to know you and learning all i can about the hobby. Bert.
Bert- Welcome to TrainBoard! We are seeing many parents and grandparents getting their youngsters involved. This is great. Hope you'll both have some wonderful memories together!
I've always felt that anything you can do together with the kids is great for both of you. Good luck moving forward, but beware the possibilty of him ending up "schooling" you on the DCC - the youner ones seem to just take to the tech like fish to water!

Yea tolono has a nice intersection of CN and NS. Amtrack runs on the north south lots of action here for rail fans!
