How many caught Nickel Plate 765 yesterday as she ran over former N&W trackage from Decatur Illinois to Fort Wayne Indiana? I caught her in Bement Illinois yesterday morning with a good head of steam.

After taxing Jess's high speed agility on farm roads, I caught up with the grand locomotive again in nearby Sloan Illinois.

She was deadheading back to Fort Wayne after spending the weekend in St. Louis. I missed her west bound last Wednesday but was able to catch her yesterday. Beautiful to see mainline steam on former Wabash trackage.

The second photo is outstanding! Definately good luck (or planning?) to make that catch...bets I've managed was a chance encounter with UP's excursion E's.

Glad you caught her, Jim, a truly magnificent engine. Love those Lima Berks!

She ran through Peru Indiana twice in the last week. I was working both days but she caused a real stir. A couple of years abck I had the rare pleasure of throttle time on NKP765 in northern Indiana. I have a video I need to post sometime.

Thanks guys, the Berk is one of my favorite locomotives. After she went by in that second shot I was reminded once again I was born way too late.
