I just picked up four new old stock Atlas RS-1's, LIRR, first run about 2005, any tips before I try to run them other than a light lube of the gears. Thanks.

If lube is dried up, you should remove it first. If good, clean wheels first, before adding any lube. Too much lube attracts a lot of dirt.
I grew up in Bayside, Queens, and Lived in Westbury, right by LIRR Main for 6 years. Loved those old paint schemes.

I live in Port Jeff, a few blocks from the LIRR station and depot, building a small shelf layout depicting the "what if" it still ran to the Shoreham area and a bit further.

At one time, LIRR ran to Wading River. What if's are cool. I did a set of ALCo FA's in D&H black/yellow for a what if.
Hope Atlas does the S-2 in several LIRR versions. I did the Arnold S-2 in orange/grey.
Don't like those new DE/DM locos. Ugliest things ever.
