Hello everyone, Im Byron and i plan on building a layout next fall in our new home that will have a basement woo hoo im a lil excited lol. I plan on going with a ho scale layout. As far as size im thinking maybe a 4x16 or maybe even a 8x24, im also interested in running 3 or 4 trains at a time with long runs and side tracks and even add a round house. If anyone is in eastern wa. let me know i'd love to see your layout and maybe join a club if one does exist in my area.

    Where in Eastern WA?

I just recently moved to Spokane, and there is about 5 or 6 different clubs in the area.

Ike, I didn't know you moved into this area? There are a few people on here from the Spokane/Coeur d Alene are. I'm in Hayden and KevinM is in Cheney. There is usually at least 2 train shows a year at the Spokane Community College and like Ike said a few clubs. Most of them are HO so it should suit you well.

The size you choose might depend upon your ambition level and bank account. In the end, though, all that matters is to have fun.

One possibility is to build small, but designed so the layout can be expanded in stages. Something to consider...
