This weekend I finished my new Philadelphia live steamer and did a test run.

The Stephenson valve gear was very smoothly and it had no problems with for heavy LGB coaches.

The steam regulator is very sensitive and I will have to accustom to handle this carefuly. [IMG]

Paul, that engine looks really nice!

I am a big live steam enthusiast.

Hey Paul #2, now you came up with a beautiful little engine! Is this kind of engine remotely controlled? I watched an 0-4-0 run around at a train show, but it had to be stopped and hand reversed. My back yard could just about hold one of these, but I would have to shoot the neighborhood kids to keep them off! HA! They would all want to ride on it!. I could sit and just listen to the chuff chuff for hours. I'm glad you got it running. It just looks like a great project! [IMG]

hey Watash it is not remote control,I have a couple with remote control, but I do not like reloading all those batteries!!

As they run on about 2' height, it's easy to adjust the throttle when needed. I find that you can set your throttle much finer than remote control.

Kids will not want to touch the loco when running, the boiler really gets to hot.

it's also funny that those small engines produce a lot of smoke especially in this time of the year [IMG].

For the moment I'm busy in repairing the connection between the valve gear and the servo of my 0-6-0 steamer. When it's ready I will post a couple of pictures of that one also.
