I just bought the train my Dad set up for me under the Christmas tree back in the sixties. I plan to give it to my granddaughter for her kids.
All I have is the train. No track or transformer. What's a good choice for a track (and transformer) in O gauge that's easy to put together and won't require too much maintenance? It's a Lionel 224-E 2-6-2 Locomotive with Tender and 3 Passenger Cars. Thank you. Lionel 224 E.jpg Lionel Train.jpg

For the track, I would suggest Lionel Fasstrack. It snaps together allot like Kato Unitrack. The Lionel fastrack is easy to assemble and take apart. My wife and I are using Fastrack for our under the tree Christmas village and Polar Express setup. For my simple around the walls setup in the basement trainroom I am using Atlas O Track (for a more perm setup). For the transformer, I am a little less educated as I myself am new to O Scale. I believe the Lionel CW80 transformer would work for conventional Lionel trains (which would be the older lionel trains and those without digital technology.
