Seems CSX has extended its contract with Alsthom leasing to provide another 50 rebuilt SD40s (into SD40-3s) for leasing on the CSX. First Order: 3000-3052 FURX (First Union Leasing) 3053-3068 GCFX (Alsthom Leasing) in FURX colors 3069-3102 GCFX (Alsthom Leasing) in Gray Primer Dip Second Order: 3103-3112 CEFX (Alsthom Leasing) in Gray Primer Dip 3113+ CEFX (Alsthom Leasing) in Blue & White. I haven't seen this paint job yet, but they are coming out of Canada regularly, with at least half a dozen units delivered so far. Rumor has it that the Primer jobs may get re-painted as well, with the reporting marks being changed to CEFX. We'll have to wait and see on this though. Keep a heads up for the leasers. ------------------ Corey Lynch Pres - Rensselaer Model RR Society, NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad/ - NEB&W

Here's two leasing units I saw together on August 19th in Deshler, Ohio. Train was making its way though the southeast quadrant connector heading for Lima and probably points south of there yet. Unfortunately, I failed to get the train's symbol. ------------------ Brian Schmidt railohio@hotmail.com ICQ #21630753 AIM - railohio
Brian, We will forgive you for not providing the train's symbols since you provided PHOTOS! I like the HLCX units... as I mentioned in a prior post, I have a recent picture of a "clean" HLCX SD45 that I need to get posted. CSX classifies their rebuilt SD40's as SD40-2's. I think they re-engined an SD45-2 w/ a 16cylinder 3000 hp unit and it is classified as an SD40-2 also! Correct, all these locos have been rebuilt to SD40-2 standards, using whatever carbodies are available. ------------------ Corey Lynch Pres - Rensselaer Model RR Society, NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad/ - NEB&W
