Hi all, Ed from Sherman CT here. I had a small HO setup about 15 years ago that I had to give up on due to space restraints. I now have a large basement and I’ve started building my 16’ x 14’ layout. I’ve also been gathering tons of great information from these forums. So thanks to everyone for contributing. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Hi Ed, welcome. Glad to have aboard. You're fortunate to be so close to the Danbury Train Museum with its exciting collection of "stuff". Looking forward to your layout as it progresses. Please share photos.
Welcome to TrainBoard! As Hank has mentioned, photos of your growing empire would be good fun to see.
Welcome aboard, Edschef. I had to check a map to see where Sherman is, almost right on the border with NY state. I used to spend summers at my late Aunt and Uncle's residence in Stratford, a long long time ago.
Ed, forgot mention until Jim's comment reminded me. I passed close by Sherman quite a few times on NYC's Harlem Division on my way between Bedford Hills, NY and Pittsfield, MA. That was 70+/- years ago, and behind steam, so a little before your time.
Thanks to all for the nice welcome. At the moment, I’m still working on the basic track work. Shortly I’ll be adding some turnouts and then I’ll be ready to add some pictures. The setup will be DCC. I purchased the MRC Advance 2 system. I’m setting up a 5 track yard coming off a U shaped setup. As I’ve been working on it these past couple months, I made quite a few mistakes but it’s been fun figuring things out. I’ve been reading a lot about DCC wiring and watching tons of Model Railroading videos. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
