Yes Alan the white face is new. They also have A solid reflective stripe around the sill of the engine.
Great shots! I'v not seen any repainted units (yet). I like the white face cab, but wonder why they just didn't go ahead and paint the roof white too? (Maybe it is and we just can't see). It's kinda' hard to compete with this scheme though: Harold
I like the new logo on the side of the loco, but im not sure how much i like the white around the windsheilds.
Harold I saw some of those NS locos the other day in Morristown,TN. I could not figure out what color they are though. Is it a tan color or is it a gray color. I would like to find out so when I paint an undec dash 9 I will have the right color. any help & information is appreciated. jaijef
NS locomotives are really difficult to see sometimes. If I remember correctly, black and white are two of the most difficult colors for the human eye to see. It would make sense to paint the tops of these units a lighter color. That would help keep the crews just a little bit cooler on those hot days. Wonder which paint is cheaper for the railroad to buy: black or white? The logo looks good! The white around the cab windows reminds me of the late BN paint scheme. Those are some great pictures. Why doesn’t my “point-and-click” camera take such good shots?
