    Thanks for the video! When I tell friends about steam trains like this, I always explain that it's no amusement park ride -- that the locomotive is the real deal at 445 Tons with a maximum speed in her prime of over 100 MPH. For people who've never seen such, it's hard for them to envision such a thing. From what I read, both 611 trips last weekend were a huge success. I thought about making the long drive to Old Fort and into the Loops for a picture, but added up the hours of drive time and railfan traffic and decided to stay put. My wife and I rode behind 611 and 1218 on trips many years ago and enjoyed the rides immensely.

    Here's the 1218 at Phenix City, AL on the former CofG in November 1989
