Hello again: I would like to talk to other N scalers that model the 1950s or steam era. I have questions regarding availability of equipment for this period. Thanks and I hope to hear from someone soon!
Most of my layout covers 1940's - 1960 with lots of steam era structures and main lines covered with cinders. Many of the structures can be purchased in hobby shops: water towers, coal towers, control towers , roundhouse and turntables...etc. Alot of the structures and automobiles found in hobby shops are 1950's. Other items like ash pits, in track water pans .. etc can be built. Rolling stock is little problem if you look around enough. Cars of any era can be found. Getting engines can get selective at any point in time. They have produced most of them but over the years. To get many different 50's power for a certain railroad can be a challenge.
