I am looking for some help here folks. I have picked up a couple of Atlas N scale Shays and so far, I have not been able to find anyone that can or will install an ESU Loksound decoder and sugar cube speaker.

Any brave souls out there that would undertake it or recommend an installer that can?

I have an Atlas Shay and a LokSound nano for it, not yet installed. In case you don't find anyone and decide to brave it yourself, therailwire has a detailed thread on the installation... https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=50415.0

That's what I'm planning to try anyway, though the size of this Shay is a bit daunting. The Kato RDC I did last with the nano was massive compared to this!

Thanks for the link. I went over and looked at it the entire install. Doesn't look real difficult but looks can be deceiving. I believe there is a smaller sound decoder than the Loksound micro and if I remember SBS4DCC sells them. I getting ready to hop over there and look. It has been a couple years since the post was written.

I have a spare shay coming tomorrow that I will use as a prototype. I have a couple DZ125 Digitrax that I could practice with. It's undecorated so if I gouge something up It won't hurt as bad...

The LokSound nano is the smallest sound decoder from ESU, smaller than the micro, other brands may be smaller, but since I have the lokprogrammer, that's the only decoder brand I use.
