I have scoured the pages of the current MR and find, with some surprise, that no manufacturers of n scale locos seem to produce any models of Monon prototypes.

Does anyone know if either of what we might call the "quality" manufacturers (ie Atlas and Kato, but probably including Life Like as well) has produced any such item within the last few years?

I have seen some MONON Loco's at our Central Indiana Division/MWR/NMRA. I think that one was done in the black and gold scheme but can't remember what model Loco it was.

That rings a bell... was a Life-Like BL-2 done in MONON?

YUP it was a LIFE-LIKE BL-2. Done maybe 10 years ago(not sure). That is the only MONON RAILROAD engine done by a major manufacturer so far. Don't hold your breath waiting for another MONON engine. I would like to see some more of MONON myself. Until then I will have to paint and letter them myself.

Thank you for the information gentlemen; I won't hold my breath for any more MONON items (or for Wabash which I would also like to see).

Its funny, though, that when you look at the lists of roads that the various new locos are released in, the smaller roads always sell out quickly, without exception, as the starved fans of the roads in question snap up the long awaited items. I wouldn't have thought that there was much risk for Atlas in including, say, a Wabash Fairbanks Morse Trainmaster in one of the runs of this model.
