I was lucky enough to experience what must be the most surreal train journey in the world - from Beijing to Pyongyang (Obviously pre-COVID). Despite the obvious, it was really fascinating experience. Interesting read. I have been somewhat interested in Korea since my dad worked in the south from 1956 through 1957. I have all his old photos from then of a war damaged country before the economic boom in later years.
I rather doubt I could make this same trip. I would not be able to sleep, or stop wondering if I might make a wrong move.
