I have two gaugemasters and I have two seperate loops that I use them with on my layout. Until recently I used two different power supplies for the track and gaugemsters. Well, needless to say if you have a gaugemaster you know that they really do work and make your loco's crawl at slow speeds.
Anyway, I purchased a tech 4 dual throttle power supply for my layout and noticed that my trains although running very smooth seemed to have lost that slow creep that I enjoyed so much. Then it hit me. I was sharing both gaugemasters from the single dual transformer accessary power supply! So I rehooked the gaugemasters to seprate power packs and bingo! Slow speed creeping again. So I guess when using a gaugemaster you need the full AC from a power supply, otherwise you loose some of its effectivness. Why? I don't know, but it does make a difference.

I don't know what the AC ratings are but I have one hooked up to a MRC 1300 and the other to a MRC tech 2. I'll look them up tonight unless someone knows the AC rating for those packs off the top of thier heads.

I have not tested my GP35 with a gaugemaster yet. I wonder what would happen? [IMG]

Well, Robert, you should do it as I still don't have mine yet. [IMG] My guess is it would run great! As for the Power rating on my tranformers Henrik, one is rated at 18 AC and the other at 19AC. So I assume you can run more than 10 AC as I have been doing it for almsot 2 years without any problems. Would the gaugemaster work with the new MTL track?

Yes, the Gaugemaster works with any track, and will improve operation of almost all DC locomotives. You cannot use it with DCC locomotives though, even the ones that run on both DC or DCC with special autodetect decoders, because of the chance of a high voltage spike burning them out. [IMG]

So Robert, did you try your GP 35 with the gaugemaster? Did you notice any difference? Or does this new loco run so well it is hard to tell? [IMG]

I have not had a chance to test it yet. Late last night I finished wiring my Z-Bend Track connectors on my module. Today I worked 12 at my day job, and I only have tonight and tomorrow night to be ready for the GATS.

As a added misery, they want me to ship 2 machines this weekend, totally forgetting about the fact that I told them about this GATS 3 months ago, and have talked non-stop about it to remind them to be prepared for the weekend I cannot work. [IMG]

It just goes to show, that when working overtime on the weekends, shifts from the exception, to the rule, that someone is going to get burned. Today, I flat out said...NO, I am unavailable this weekend. [IMG]

So what are they gonna do? Haha! The carpet people are going to have to do some work on the floor for once, and sacrafice one of their own weekends for the sake of their stock price. (I hold no stock in UTEK) These laser machines take up as much space as 2 two-car garages, and are a pain in the butt to clean, wrap, and ship. [IMG] [IMG]

So, tonight I have to decal 12 Santa Fe covered hoppers, then tomorrow, load up my car because after work I go to the GATS to setup. At the show I will try my GP with the Gaugemaster. [IMG]

    Robert,

What working 12 hours on means you have 12 hour off! Come on man, what is taking you so long to finish the other GP35? I thought you would have the 2nd GP35 and at least one SW-1 swicher complete by now.

    :D :D

Only kidding. I hate when the real job gets in the way of our fun. Have fun at GATS!
