I’ve always been curious about O Scale, after looking through the forum and some FB Groups I decided to take the dive. I was looking for a set to get me going quickly but I know now from experience with the other scales, never gonna get exactly what you want. So I set out to get all I need piece by piece. I decided to get MTH Premier rolling stock, Lionel FasTrack and the MTH DCS Explorer Wifi.
I had my first running session a couple of weeks ago and it was so much fun for myself and my daughter. I love the sound and the trains rumbling on the track. This was a new experience for me as I predominantly model N scale and some HO.
I have wonderful memories of my Lionel, as a youth. It seems as though I was much more free to just have fun.
Welcome to the wonderful world of O, Junior. You've made some great purchases. Just make sure everything will run on your curves. Some Premier engines and cars require larger curves.
Thank you gentlemen for the welcome into the world of O Scale. The track I have now are O-48 and got a good deal on them from Lee. Yes, I will be selective as to what locos I will be getting and most likely 4 axle diesels only. I already have 2 locos in mind. Gonna stay away from steam as they seem to be double or at times 3x the price of diesel coz I want the good stuff unless I find a good deal. The Hiawatha was too good of a deal to pass up. As for the VW Bus, that’s my daughter’s and of course I bought it coz I liked it just as much.
I couldn't keep my word and stay away from steam locomotives, I found a couple of good deals and had some good luck getting these 3 steam locomotives. All are MTH Premier. I'm hoping this is it but highly unlikely.
Had my second running session and since then I have acquired a couple more locomotives and rolling stock. I got some 3/4" foam to make it a little easier crawling around on the floor. My daughter and I had a great time running the trains. I hope to get the track off the ground and on to a table on the next running session.
That looks great Jim! You don't see these VW buses much anymore especially this specific paint scheme. Here are more pics of my daughter's VW bus.
Have not had a running session lately but that has not stopped me from acquiring more locomotives and rolling stock, but I have decided to focus on SP and WP for my O Scale collection. Here are some of my new locomotives.
Hey Junior how ya doing ??? Your collection is looking Great !!! Now quit goofin off and get that O Scale layout built !!! lol
