The Maberly Transit Commission operates a nonprofit public transportation service for the citizens of the city of Maberly. The equipment used was purchased from the TTC.
These famous red subway cars have the unique name of the "Red Rocket" It is quite common to hear people saying we are going to ride the red rocket to get to work, go shopping or to get to the various entertainment venues in the city or just to get from point A to B.
Fares are based on the honour system. Single trip tickets are available at the stations. Weekly and monthly passes are available and one can travel anywhere in the city that the MTC routes cover. MTC police do random checks to ensure all riders have a valid ticket.
The pictures seen here were taken at the Front Street station where the MTC connects with the MAT rail terminal so commuters can hop onto the subway when the commuter train drops them off at downtown Maberly.

I scratchbuilt six of these subway cars but only five fit in this station.
I still need to add interior lights in the cars and to install supporting columns in the station.

    WOW!!!!!!

A subway with clean walls, clean cars, and no trash on the platform. Must take a lot of extra manpower to keep it that clean.

Looks really great. Maybe you can teach NYC and Chicago about tunnel maintenence and cleaning.

Telegrapher, the Front street station is just below street level as the rest of the subway is supposed to be. I did not power this as the station is the only part of the subway so it is just a static display.
Johnny Trains, sorry you couldn't see the pics.
If any of you want to see a real clean subway system, just come to Toronto and you will find one. Thats what my model is based on.

    Robin,
Did you size them up the way you saw fit, or did you work these from acual plans? I love how they turned out, and they sure add flair to your cityscape. I wanted to do some scratchbuilt passenger cars, but was a bit afraid to start them, this gives me the inspiration to try it...If they are your own plans I'd love to find out how you built them to ease in my own project.

Ed, no specific plans. I took a few measurements from passenger cars to get proportions right and just guessed where to put the doors as it has been a long while since I last saw one of the red TTC cars

WOW! They look just like the "redbirds" that run on the 7 line here in NYC. I love it!!!
