I remember seeing some older submarines loading torpedos in an opening like that ....... maybe CSX are getting a bit over defensive.
It's RARE VINTAGE, made by "New Ray", "is perfect for those who are looking for something special and unique in their model railroad and train collection" and "includes a DC power type powered by batteries". Looks like $25 on a good day.
If I buy a freight car kit that was manufactured and decorated in the USA, but the seller is in Japan, do I have to pay a tariff? Asking for a friend.* *Actually, unless something has changed (and who knows), the answer is no according to a customs employee I talked to before going to the ill-fated NMRA National Train Show in the Toronto Area back in 2003 (yikes!). He told me that I would be "repatriating" the item(s).
LOL, it's country of manufacture that gets you. Made in USA should be tariff free, made in Japan as long as under $800 is no tariff but a China made and purchased from the UK gets a 30% tariff tacked on (as of right now anyway) when if arrives stateside. A certain retailer in the UK informed me they have been contacted recently by several customers complaining because their packages were held hostage by US customs until the tariff was paid. Wonder what the penalty is if the shipper list the wrong country of manufacture on the customs form?
I'll see your hypothetical and raise you another: What if the country name was just made up? Would anyone know? Note: I do not recommend or endorse this. For example, I would not use Elbonia, Vulcan, Outer Slobovia, Fizzbin, Shlabotnik, etc.
