......and neither one is "extremely rare"? For that kind of money, I expect that it is "extremely rare"..........looks like I will not be bidding on either of those. It must be "extremely rare" to get my money.
There are surprisingly lots of "OOZE GREED" sellers on ebay. They (more often than not a husband wife team) snap up someones junk boxes in estate sales for a song, and then they set the sky high listing price of these things in a piranha feeding frenzy betweenst themselves, justifying the insane prices with a "We will just keep relisting it till it sells, someone out there just has to have it, and we will wait for him". I used to provide kits to one such team, until I really got to know them over time at train shows. When the Alps ribbons threatened to dry up, they listed a single white ribbon for $250 for 6 months, and even had it at trains shows for that price in a glass box. Almost everything they offered was broken up old dust bunnies. Their intense greed oozes from their pores, and is more than evident in every word they spoke. At the end of my dealings with them, I felt so greasy and filthy, like I needed to vomit, a hot soapy shower, and gargle with 2 bottles of mouthwash after washing my mouth out with bar soap. You know the type?
RRay... that was quite a lesson. I have to admit that several years ago, when I was actively shopping for n scale stuff on eBay, there were some very strange auctions which had piqued my interest. Most of what I was looking for was out of production stuff which on a 'good' day should have sold for less than $20. I would bid slightly above the opening amount , someone else would bid a couple of times to supersede my offer. If I felt it was worth more I would bid my 'max'. Someone else would supersede my bid with a few counter bids. If the item was something rarely offered I would 'reach' somewhat beyond my value estimate to regain the lead. Then the first counter offerer would get back in to bid, and the other offerer would begin a short bidding up process. Most of the time I dropped out... but at least twice I waited to 'snipe' at the final few seconds. Back then you could track the ID of the bidders and found times where they were acting in unison for various items. EBay ended that ability to track the bidders a few years ago. I RARELY go there to look for anything... have not bid eBay in the past 5 years. So... these scum-sucking con artist won't be able to lure me into a bidding frenzy anymore. Last things I acquired from eBay were Buy It Now items. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
Here's a new one.. the manufacturer says AJ. https://www.ebay.com/itm/AJ-TRAIN-N...928342?hash=item5b727eacd6:g:3z4AAOSwjZFeQwa8. This is clearly a LIMA F7A imported by AHM . There might be a few more by this person marked AJ or incorrectly. Tom
This looks more RED and GREY Train Car N Scale 989 BURLINGTON RED AND SILVER SHELL | eBay Not Red and Silver as stated even if one enlarges the photo. Tom
OK I was searching for some N scale freight cars and this was in the lineup. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Aquatic-Tu...369576?hash=item3fdff5d4a8:g:H9QAAOSwqzhemnyu
Is that for an N scale turtle? Properly fueled with this food, how many cars can the turtle pull up a 2% grade?
What percentage of wild aquatic turtles might you estimate typically have either corn or poultry meal as part of their regular diet?
With this high octane turtle fuel my N scale Turtle Creek Class A Climax can pull 10 cars up a 6% grade.
But, what to do if your aquatic turtle has a discriminating palate? Well, they seem to have that covered, too:
The price is humourous. If I want ten bananas, usually I have to sell a lot of at least four shells to get that. This guy thinks that he is going to get ten bananas for one? It has happened, I suppose, but, I would not lay odds on his getting a bid. I have listed lots of six or eight shells for less and gotten no bids. The seller probably listed some trains, went to list the turtle food and the listing template did not take his category change. Some times, you must change the category three and four times to get the change to take. This goes double once you have listed it then noticed that you put it into an incorrect category. He might have forgotten to check. This quirk is one of the many annoying quirks of FeePay.
An attempt at cross promotion? Maybe the seller didn't realize the Turtle Creek Central was a railroad...…….
This listing reminds me of those "find the errors" drawings that used to appear in newspapers. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Z-SCALE-MI...653633?hash=item25fd8ccf01:g:BZMAAOSw441bWPKN I count at least four, not including the price.
