    One o
One of the old single powered truck with poor tractive effort models and certainly not worth the money he is asking. One would be better off investing the money in the Atlas made version than to spend good money on this poor runner to try and repair their poor runner.

I forgot to mention in my earlier comments that I have never seen this old loco for sale with a cab roof they have all seemed to have been roofless. Now as I remember they did not have the roof glued on and it could come off during handling, but how do you lose a piece that large escapes me and on that many locos. Either that or this is about the 30th time this loco has come up for sale.

LOL... the laugh of the day.

Well, until it actually happens... stay tuned!

BTW, has anyone sent a note to the seller with the message, "You're thinking of 'Cab Roof.'" ?

    John Moore and All,

I seem to recall there was a article in one of the MODEL RAILROAD Publications by someone who actually repowered these with ATLAS / KATO or possibly modified the ATLAS / KATO, ATLAS chassis to fit the Model Power Loco shell. Anyone else here recall if it was either RMC or mr or ? publication.

Not sure about another chassis under it. But quite a few years ago I installed a double shaft motor in one and a geared truck from a dead one and made a full powered one. I seem to remember that it was the old spring drive version. Many years ago pre train board and it is long since gone from my roster.

In my 'imbecilic days', when I actually thought these were investment grade products (silly me)... I would pay up to $60.00 a single mint condition Micro-trains car from the 1970's. I remember one of MT's early wood reefer which I really wanted... but was rarely auctioned... the Van de Camps reefer. They would get bid up too high for my liking... usually over $70.00... which I could not justify. Eventually I caved in and got one for about $50.00 after a year of waiting. As it turns out... it had been run some... so not 'mint' condition. Interestingly... the Atlas 40' wood reefers are just as nice looking... but are now retailing for over $25.00 each. No Van de Camps reefer yet from Atlas.
