Moose finish 360-ton coal tower kit today – finally! This was the hardest kit Moose has ever built. Moose had to guess how this tower kit was supposed to go together based on photos and blueprints of prototype towers. The instructions were quite poor, seemingly printed with invisible ink on transparent paper. Every part had to be custom cut, sanded and/or trimmed. The kit didn’t even come in a box, so Moose no have decent image of what the kit was supposed to look like when it was completed. It was shear madness to build, but here it is, located on the layout approximately were it will eventually reside, the product of one very moose-hooved modeler’s efforts…
You did a great job! I have had a kit or two that required a mind reader to assemble, so I know the drill......not pleasant! I particularly like your rusted tin roofing. Really good work!
I Win, I Win, I picked out the Secret Project What do we have for him, Johnny? Oh...nothing, alright Well, I tried! BTW, instructions must have been by Walthers as their building are great, instructions, NOT, just a bunch of text that's makes no sense. And they always have some kind of error in the text. But I still like them.
I still can't get over the dexterity that Moose has with his hooves...let alone that he can read and write.
Very nice! Don’t think I could manage the same! Especially since I can’t draw a straight line, WITH a ruler! Cutting not much better either.
Just a sneak peak of what's on the workbench at the mo': 1. Coal tower dump shed: 2. Six local area brewery reefers: 3. Canyon for logging railroad trestle:
Painting the coal tower dump shed's foundation: And while Moose watches paint dry, started building the sand tower house:
Also had some time to dig out and temporarily install the Coal Tower and Shed foundations in Oban Yard. Yeah!
