Does anyone know anything about these? Someone i know has four of these, still in the wood case. There is a Crocodille set, Sir Nigel(4-6-2), And evening star(2-10-0). All are priced at 300 each. Does that even sound right?

They were Minitrix (made in Germany) locos and coaches.
They were a set made up from locos and coaches normally available as separate items.
The British locos have not been produced for about 20+ years.
The British Minitrix was sold at one time as Hornby/Minitrix.
The Crocodile is still produced with a newer design of drive with a better motor.

Minitrix also produced a range of USA locos including a K4 steamer and some diesels.

I believe the British A4 and A3 pacifics and 9F (Evening Star) 2-10-0 used the same mechanisms from a German locos as the K4 and Pennsy 2-10-0 and so were not really dimensionally accurate. As well I think you will find that the British prototypes produced by Minitrix were made to 1:160 scale rather than the 1:148 used for N scale in Britain and so were never very popular there. For British stuff you'd be better off looking at some of the newer (and cheaper) locos made by Graham Farish and Dapol.

Those sets usually go for $125-200 on ebay, so don't blow your budget on 'em!

For the British A4 Pacific, both Dapol and Graham Farrish have produced versions of it more recently than Minitrix, which are apparently quite high quality, if also a bit priced too match.

Thats to bad he has them priced so high. And he has them marked as MP. I was really just curious about them. The Pacific passenger set looks pretty sharp. I guess maybe I will just have to pass. Even though they have never been run..
