Galesburg IL June 22, 2000 - My one and only trip there for Railroad Days. Really want to get back there again for both the show and the railfanning
I think it's funny when a Wet Noodle is pulling for the competition's hottest intermodal (#148/149, at least on my local div), so here's a CN unit shoving midtrain on eastbound CP 148 in downtown Minot, ND:
Probably doesn't count, but several ex-CN 'barns toil on for Dakota, Missouri Valley Western now. Falkirk, ND:
From 09/30/1978, GP-35 4000 at Knoxville, TN. The CN owned only two GP-35s. She was retired 01/24/1984 and sold to the Dakota Missouri Valley & Western for parts.
The CN logos are still visible set in tile of all the support pillars it the VIA station in Montreal, Quebec. Mascouche is a suburb north of Montreal.
From July 1989 at Montgomery, AL, CN double door (plug and slider) boxcar 552424. Look at the added bracing on the car ends. I suspect this car has been (re)engineered for paper loading, but I'm not sure. None of the stencils call out a car assignment.
Wow! That is definitely some heavy duty bracing. Guess they were expecting that car to have a hard life
I got a long zoom shot of one of these a long time ago, and you can really see the way the frame sags in the middle from the weight! You can kinda' see it in your pic too!
We see a lot of the CN engines, some box cars and a LOT of tankers. When I moved here about 10 years ago the huge tanker loads would come through in the middle of the day and block a lot of streets. Now they come through between 2:30 and 5:00 with 6 or 7 engines mixed in with nice shiny tankers.
