It looks like CN will start running Distributed Power on all trains on the Squamish and Lillooet Subs, they're training all engineers on the new DP systems over the next month. CN will be sending more traffic down the BCR as current traffic levels don't justify running DP, average train size currently is 20-44 cars. The old Locotrol 2 system on the big Dash 8's won't be used, but the blue Dash 9's with the Locotrol-Electronic Air Brake or the new CN power(the ES44DC's and 8800-series SD70M-2's) will be used on the DP trains. Though it won't be a mix of the two, as the CN DP engines won't link up with the BCR LEB dash 9's or the Locotrol 2 Dash 8's. DP is supposed to be implemented by next summer, so I guess CN isn't going to be abandoning the Squamish Sub after the 5-year mandate expires in April after all.
