The EMC FT was the forerunner to the F series of EMD locos - F2's, F3's, F5's, F7's, and F9's. The first demostrator units hit the rails around 1939 and was the diesel locomotive accredited for the beginning of steam's demise. Scans of paintings depicting 'as delivered' schemes can be found at http://pages.tca.net/lruback/ft_page.htm giving you a good look at what they are. There was an earlier thread on this topic that I couldn't find here in this forum. May have been in the Inspection Pit.
    Hope this helps.

    Gary.

Late winter 2001 expected date? That means December 2001. Don't anyone hold their breath. That's a year and one half away. Sort of too soon to be announcing maybe.

I think they mean around Feb 2001, or late summer for us Antipodeans.

I asked the question on the aol board to the person who first posted the news. (he posted it before the "official announcement" The original post said 'winter of 2001 I askedif that was January 2001 or December 2001. The reply was December 2001. So who knows. I'll wait till MT posts it on their homepage. Either way I don't believe I will be getting any.

Thanks for the correction. Seems a long time to wait after pre-announcing. Most seem to hold back these days until it is in pre-production.
    How's tricks in CA, B?
