At our local modelling club we heard about metal polishing powders from Germany. I think the company that makes them is called Uschi. Is this a good place to start a thread about them?

I'd say you are in the right place, Shawn. :)

The full product name is Uschi van der Rosten metal polishing powders (www.uschivdr.com). There are several YouTube videos that describe how they work — which is to say if you want to model metal, they work very well. One of the members of our local scale modellers group said basically the same thing: "You gotta try them!"

Next question: Is there a U.S. distributor for them?

I always use BRASSO, an old military thing; works like a charm

True, Brasso will polish metal (my parents used it). However, these powders are used to make a painted surface look like metal. For example, you paint parts of a plastic model gloss black and then rub one of these powders on it (similar to Alclad paints). Go to YouTube and look for "uschi polishing powder".

Oops sorry I didn't read the powder portion, and Brasso is a liquid. A good one though
