Well, I'm buried in Model train literature but I'm not complaining. And that's just the Ztrack, Trainini, Goldberg, and as of today new Marklin Cub content (I did join the Insider Club for this year). It's fun for me though, my work takes me away from home every week so I can enjoy the content without keeping me from building. Which I hope to start as soon as I get the Cortina layout. I will be scouring the magazines for ideas of how to detail my track, trains, and layout. I have a lot to learn if I'm going to achieve a realism like I saw at the BAZboys layout recently. I'm very thankful for the great amount of support you have all given me and I hope to be able to contribute something in time.

Thanks, Frank. They went out today and the cost was only $17.56 for about 25lbs. of literature. He should have them by next Monday. Good call. Jim

Hi again Jim, I received the Insiders, two boxes, and thank you very much! I am just starting to read them and they are pretty cool, some good articles and cool euro train stuff, great pictures. Yes they found a good home here.

Hi, husa...I got your "check" today. Thank you for the added bonus, too. I will put the autos to good use and pass the train on to another z-scaler. I am modeling an urban switching layout and would not have use for it. Thanks for your generosity. I prefer slow moving trains in industrial or waterfront settings (think Boston.) I was thinking the Insider mags will help you get a better understanding of European train history. Most of the articles are "era" based and the articles are very well written and researched. I'm sure you will patch together a working history of European (German) train history from them. Enjoy reading them. Jim

I looked online somewhere and saw what types of cars are on that carrier. Volkswagens and Porsche’s, Mercedes, they modeled real cars.

You are correct. 3 Beatles. 3 Porches and 2 Mercedes. They are firmly attached, too. Looks like glue. They seem to be cast in rubber, not plastic.

I've really been enjoying the Marklin magazines. Great history features and occasionally i'll see some info on the handfull of locos and cars that I have already purchased.

Have you been able to locate the Marklin track planning and layout books? Item 0294 is their most recent ('94) mini-club booklet. It is printed in German. Jim

I’ll look for it. FWIW I realized I won’t be able to “play” with my Cortina layout for a while as I work on it. I’m being ambitious. So I’m looking at the Rokuhan track plans for a test layout to run trains on. It’s fun to see and think about all the different layouts. Very creative.

Rokuhan seems to be the choice for a quick working layout. I'm still deciding what track I'll end up using. I am setting up the Rokuhan double oval as a test track. Jim
