Does anyone have a unique method for adding weight to tank cars that don't disassemble?
Perhaps drill a hiddenhole and add shot from below? Then squeeze in a little epoxy to glue the shot in place internally so it doesn’t rattle?
I second that opinion.
I did this very thing, many times, get the smallest "shot" you can get. I tried gluing with thinned carpenters glue a couple times, but it was my experience that the shot ended up where it wanted to be, via vibration. Has worked very well for me anyways.
Good suggestions above. Out of curiosity, which brand of tank cars are these?
The tank car immediately needing weight is a Bachmann Made in China. This car happens to be decorated just right for my current application.
Thought of something else that would require an even smaller hole... sand.
Thats a good idea too!
Do a Google search for ''Liquid Gravity" made by a British company. Pretty neat stuff and is lead free.
I've used both shot/glue and sand. Also, steel wheels.
I told a friend about shot, and he showed up at an NTrak show with a quart bottle of shot. A huge concrete floor hall about the size of four football fields. I advised him that dropping the jar of shot would be, erm, interesting and pretty comical...
