This was posted on the MexList board by the site administrator: "This is the day that The Texas Mexican Railway becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kansas City Southern. The Tex Mex was owned by various Mexican transportation companies from 1881 until 1995, when KCS began to acquire interest in it and took a hand in its management. Today is the final step in a convoluted process of bringing it fully under KCS ownership and control. Although Tex Mex operations have looked like the KCS for quite some time now, Tex Mex will remain a separate railway on paper for the foreseeable future. KCS is expected to gain full ownership of the Mexican railway TFM during 2005." Lowell G. McManus Leesville, Louisiana, USA ----------------------------------------- Regards
Ed- By their speaking of seperate on paper, are they saying the just corporate portion? Or is it still also operated independently? Boxcab E50
