Where can one obtain Kato Super Chief Passenger Car Trucks? The KatoUSA website states that they are currently sold out.
You might try someone like Neil's N-Gauging Trains. I was surprised at all the old out of stock Kato parts he had at the DCE show. I picked up a pack of the first generation Kato couplers. Have not seen those in years. Also the old smooth side passenger trucks will work. If you can only get them in black you can always paint them silver.
I just checked the Kato Parts web site and they have the Smooth Side Passenger truck in Silver with couplers. #[FONT=verdana,arial,default][SIZE=-1]800093. [/SIZE][/FONT]These will fit the Super Chief cars. They have minor detail differences on the side frames but otherwise are a drop in fit. I bought an extra Super Chief Diner shell and some of these trucks. It all went together just fine. I renumbered the car for ATSF 1488 (almost identical Pullman Built) to go with my Texas Chief.
