KATO SD70ACE

It is Feb and I was wondering if any trainboarders might know when the ACE's might be showing up? If somehting has been posted recently, I apologize!

Kato's web site is currently saying 'April 2009'; haven't heard anything to suggest otherwise - yet.

 

Yep, patiently waiting so I can save up to purchase at least two. (hopefully a standard UP and the heritage SP... and the heritage D&RG if possible as well) Basically I love those heritage paint schemes...

 

I will buy a couple to strip and repaint into the Golden State Railroads two tone blue scheme.

 

Kato's website says April for all of them. Of course, I ordered all 7 so far, and they'll show up the same day as the two Cab-Forwards I also ordered.

Anybody want to buy a kidney?

I liked the SP scheme, too. Personally I though the DRG&W was the one that was really lame. It doesn't seem like there are any prevailing opinions on these.

 

What would you want to repaint it as, UNCLE PUKE railroad yellow & grey??? BLAH!!!

 

Yeah no kidding. I like both the SP and Rio Grande units -- all 6 of them are way better than the bazillions of yellow and grey units out there! Now if BNSF would just do the same thing....

 

Personally I might have a couple stripped and repainted in CN since they are close to the M-2's, or have some painted in CP since they are testing out a few of the BNSF units right now deciding if they want to buy or not.

Kato's date for delivery for the SD70ACe's is now May 2009

 

Thanks for the update. Now I won't have to choose between the IRS or Kato.

 

Where did this info come from. Kato USA is still showing April for a del date.

 

April 30th or May 1st, what a difference a day makes!!
the original delivery date for two of the UPs and the first two Heritage units was next week, with the third for each in April, followed by the rest in June.
current schedule looks like we will get the all the UP and the first three Heritage in May,
with the last three late summer.

 

Which will get here first? Kato SD70ACe or Atlas Dash 8-40CW? The race is on--first one to my wallet wins! Jamie

It's getting close to crunch time, has anyone seen any production shots yet? I feel we should have gotten a glimpse by now.
