UP_Phil - Is there a list for the CVs used on the SP 4449 for the Tsunami. I'm not really sure which sounds to use. I really got to say I'm sorry I questioned the sound out of that little speaker. You wearn't kidding that sucker puts out plenty of volume really sounds good.

Awesome guide! This helped a lot doing my GS-4 Install. I have a question about the second forward LED though. I followed our PC Board modification exactly, eg.. desoldered the transistor in the middle of the board, broke the contact on to the pad on the bottom of the board. But the that is controlled by track power only doesn't work, only the LED controlled by the controller. Did I miss something, or maybe mess something up? Thanks for any info.

What, if any, changes are necessary to this procedure, if one's GS4 already has the DCC fix (i.e., not first production run)?

that's the way mine was, basically you don't have to worry about the "isolating the drivers" part. You don't have to tear the front part all the way down. I went ahead and completely isolated the motor from. I soldered two wires to the motor and ran those back to the tender along with the two wires from the LED. So I've got 4 wires going between the loco and tender, however the wires are very small and almost invisible.

I just finished mine today, only took a couple of days once I finally accumulated the parts and got started, (Oh, and got a second GS4 because Kato don't have the parts available to fix the first one yet). Pretty easy installation if you have the DCC fix, I like steam loco installations were you don't have to take any of the mechanism apart. Thanks Phill, followed your instructions to the letter, everything just fell into place.

Just picked up this engine and will eventually add Sound and DCC, so I thank you for this step by step. This is what I consider my first real train.

UP_Phil, thank you for the great right up. I used it and your ideas to do the first in 2 units but of course making my own changes. But a question a I have is what CV values did you use for you sound. I tried clicking on the links but they aren't working.
