Sure! It just depends on how you define "compatable". As far as I know, there are no decoder/light board swaps yet. But I have installed many decoders, and I would recommend the Digitrax DZ121. It's the smallest 1-amp decoder, and has back EMF. All you have to do is notch the frame yourself, or Aztec Mfg. has replacement frames already milled. Let me know if you need help. MOPAC 1
Here's another source you might want to try:ttx-dcc.com It's Tony's Train Exchange and they do a lot of dcc decoder installations and have lots of pictures of installations. ------------------ When in doubt, empty your magazine. Member #33
The decoder you're looking for is the DN144K, MSRP $49.99, designed for the Kato C44-9W. Check it out at this site (as well as other loco-specific decoders). If you want to order, call Tony or visit his website as suggested above. http://www.digitrax.com/mobdec.htm ------------------ Corey Lynch VP - Rensselaer Model RR Society NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad/ - NEB&W
I don't think John @ Aztec is milling frames for -9's. ------------------ Keep on Track'N at www.phcomputing.com Harold Riley
