Great pictures. I enjoy all of it and I will look more closely later. I notice a lot of deck bridges; even triple level deck bridges. I believe they are the most expensive to build (they have to support the roadbed and the train), so this is a high priority route, no doubt. A lot of money went into building that type of ROW. Is there any weight restriction on this area? Do you have to keep moving or can you stop anywhere you want to or need to?
Hey Flash, the KCT is a funnel of tracks through KC. LOTS of trains. It is train after train after train. It carries all of BNSF transcon traffic as well as UP and interchange traffic. We keep moving as long as signal indication allows.
============================= Don is OH so CORRECT! You NEVER stop your train other than for signal indication unless you have a near death occurence or you WANT to get fired! As most railroaders learn very early in their careers about signal aspects and indications. If you ever run a red board you make three calls... 1/ call the dispatcher 2/ call any other trains that may be in your vicinity. 3/ call your wife or GF and tell her you just got fired!! LOL!
Cool pics Don. Keep'em coming. Makes the trains look like car highway spaghetti bowls with all those flyovers.
Great shots Don. Its pictures like this that really make me wish I was not color blind so that I could be the engineer.... Thanks again Don Steve
Glad everyone enjoyed them. I just noticed I had the wrong train symbol listed it was Q OIG CHI1-06U not SBD.
I like the wheat, the porter, and the ale. </font>[/QUOTE]I really liked the "Ten Penny" but, I think they stopped making it. AND, if you take a tour, you can "sample" it ALL!LOL!
Don, Do you notice many LED signals being installed around the place? Great pics would love to see more.
