Welcome back from the weekend fellow modelers. I hope it was a productive one for you. Saturday: Was as planned. We had a nice family day and enjoyed each others company. Sunday: Since Saturday was so busy, we had to start by getting the domestic chore of grocery shopping done. After that and a bit of lunch, I was off to my "not so local hobby shop" or the owners house rather. There, I picked up my new HO FreeMo module. This module is a 45 degree curve and I need one more to make a complete turn for my L shaped Switching layout. I was given the layout with a promise that I would have track on it and have it operational by our October meet. I also fired up the power tools and built my bridge module that will span the gap between the future modules and the current modules of my B&M layout. The simple 1/4 Birch ply span is only 4 inches wide and 35.5 inches long and will span the window that is situated on the wall of the layout. So how about you? What did you get done this weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 20th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and as always... High Greens!
Saw some live steam Early Saturday, followed by a visit to Mainline Hobby Supply in Blue Ridge Summit PA. That was followed by a professional Railroader's BBQ on Saturday night (repleat with slides and stories) and train chasing on Sunday. I have video to edit form that event.
Made some decent progress on my decalling project. SP DF-2 class F3's Hope Y'all had a great weekend!! Wolf
I was t able to start the structure, needed more stuff. So thats all on order. I did however get the n scale trains put into a case for travel .
Amongst woodworking for new modules etc I did get to re-assemble the pick up I painted the previous weekend. Still need to add road grime etc but here is a picture: For anyone who wants a 360 view and bit more of a write up I have posted more about it on my blog. I will post it again once finished.
A trip to the hardware store, to stock up on a few nuts and bolts I wanted on hand, for use with assorted module ideas.
Here is a completed weekend project. I have posted a thread regarding installation of ESU 73100/speaker/headlight into my KEY 4-6-6-4. Here she is "as purchased" back in 2011...................... Here are 3 images of her now after the install and an attempt at weathering...................... Yep, the image stresses that the coal load is not properly seated. Easy fix. I went rather light on the "weathering", so if you have suggestions/comments they are appreciated. I read that the UP may not refurbish 3985, if so I will repaint this as 3977 in Greyhound scheme. Thanks for looking, Carl
We put a lot of "water" into the harbor, allowing even for big ships!!! Fore more, see OPS! Best, Sven
A lost Siskiyou Southern train somehow made it to Playa Desnuda from the almost great State of Jefferson…who knows how….
