Welcome back everyone. I hope your weekend was good and filled with progress. Lets get started.

Saturday: After moving Jess, releasing the Mustang into the wild, rolling out the motorcycle and transforming the garage into the wood shop, I got started. First was the HO module and the task of measuring, drawing lines and using cork roadbed to establish a dual mainline was in order. While that was drying, I started working on the HO scale switching layout. I had a kits of the four foot modules and decided to use the parts of two to combine into one 77.5-inch X 18-inch layout, the space that is allotted to me. Attention returned to the HO module and Micro Engineering code 70 track was wired and glued down. By Saturday evening I was exhausted so it was Chinese take out and a movie before returning to the garage late. By 11:30 I realized they had taken the rain out of the forecast so I cleaned up and went to bed.

Sunday: Seven hours of rest got me ready to take on the day. By noon, the track on the HO module was painted and done.

Next was the HO switching layout. Over the course of the day, 1X3 stiffeners were added, complete with small access holes for the wires.

Then the 1.5-inch foam was glued down on top.

Finally, the three brackets which will be attached to wall seen in the above image were built.

Hardboard was cut for the fascia and by 5:00, I was beat. After a complete cleaning of the shop, the motorcycle was rolled in, the Mustang put back into her home and Jess moved to stand guard. I rewarded Angela for putting up with my absence over the weekend by making homemade chicken pot pie and playing one of her favorite movies "Grease". Overall, a great weekend.

So how about you? What did you get done? Let us know, with an image or two if you have them. We'll all assemble again on Friday the 23rd to do it all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

Spent time doing quite a bit of "thissa and thatta".
    • Worked on the Atlas Middlesex kitbashing project
    • Finished building C&O Cantilever signal bridges (6 of them). Now I'll paint/weather and ship off for the lights.
    • Re-worked a couple of Tortoise machines I wasn't happy with and got them working
    • Also, while in the train room, I spent quite a bit of time cleaning the track. I let the CMx cleaning tank clean both mainlines and used a little elbow grease to hit some sidings and turnouts.

As I suspected - due to our little visitor (Our granddaughter) - I did not work on any MRR projects - an,d I am good with that.

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,

Just worked on a tiny area of scenery. It's not much but it's progress.

    Good morning all,

On Saturday got all 4 of the IR transmitter stands for the staging yard finished and painted. In this photo the one on the left also has the transmitter installed with it's wires extending down through the tube. I decided to use some white heat shrink tubing to dress up the tops.

Here is one of them shown installed at one of the test spots. The hole for the sensor can be seen between the ties. The actual locations will be on the 4 tracks in the right of the photo. I did quite a bit of test running through the rebuilt yard over the weekend and did find a couple of electrical bugs that I still need to work out.

After accomplishing more tree pruning on Sunday morning, the afternoon was set aside to get a start on that last 37-1/4" long section of bench work. Here it is temporarily set in it's place.

It was a great weekend, hope you all also had a good one.

Since I now have a screwy work schedule I didn’t do
Much this weekend. I did go over some plans for some cars I want to scratch build on Friday. Sunday since I got home at 3 am was spent unconscious. However I have the next two days off so I will be spending the time in the garage working on the modules.

A quick trip to the nearest thing we have here for a hobby shop. Picked up a couple bottles of paint. Then suddenly it was Monday....

Got the main loop wired, tested my DCC equipment (Most of which is running for the first time ever!) Mixed results. 3 need repair (GG1 traction tire, P42 DOA (GRR!), GS-4 (Will add sound while fixing).

The FEF-3 is gorgeous, but my track isn't worthy yet. Love my BLI with sound. Definitely want sound in most of my motive power now.

Well let's see. First it was Friday. Then suddenly it is Monday. Last week was house chores with model RR procrastination on the side. I have just gotten started with boiler forming for the Mogul. I have put in a new priority method that I hope will help me focus more on what is needed. We will see....

I weathered seven boxcars. I prepped seven more boxcars by spraying them with Dullcoat. Did not get to run any trains.

    No modeling.
Spent the weekend in Bradford Co. Pa.
Walked about a mile of old S&NY RoW. Tried to find a 1930's coal truck to rail transfer siding but I believe it has been erased by flood erosion.
Took an old chair, bag of peanuts and a Thermos of coffee and sat on an abandoned switchback in the woods as the sun went down.
Heard three hoot owls and imagined they were steam whistles echoing down the mountain.
Perfect way to end the day.

I almost forgot about this thread, but I did get part of my goal done. I built 6 42' drop bottom gondolas to the point where I need to install the brass parts. I still need to drill all the grab iron holes, form and install all the grabs, install brake wheels, and drop door rods. Then paint and decal them. That will all be projects for next weekend, as I got lots of winter prep projects to fill this week.
