Welcome back everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend and got a lot accomplished.

Saturday: A transition day. I went from a small town Ford dealership to a large city Ford dealership. As of today, I'll be working in Champaign again at a large Ford dealership.

Sunday: Was warmer then expected. At one point it got up to 56 degrees, and while the temptation of getting on the Harley was there, I knew the salt was still on the roads. Instead, I did a bit of pre-spring yard work and opened up the garage so I could finish the CTC panel project. I got all the wood panel pieces cut and glued. The the box is ready for finish sanding and stain. Too bad the snow comes back this week.

So how about you? What did you get done this weekend? Let us know. We'll start the process all over again on Friday the 29th, the last day of February....hallelujah! Until then, have a great week, be safe and as always...

    High Greens!

Good laid back weekend. Did manage to get the deck bridge to a point where it now needs "painting". After that, there will be a wood walkway down the center along w/ putting down the track and bridge guard-rails. Here is the framework set loosely on top of the tracks where it will go. Not from any proto-type mind you. Just took 6 ME deck bridge sections and laterally held them together. This thing has ME decks, Plastruct pieces, Evergreen I beams, Central Valley truss girders, Central Valley spare parts from other bridges, and even a wood strip stock down the center keeping it all aligned.

Took the wife out for a birthday lunch and movie Saturday and Sunday, I got what I planned done but nothing more. The rest of the interior lights for the buildings on main street are wired and working along with the strobe on the water tower. Got the retaining walls put in at the beginning of the bridge and started to do a little scenery work around them. More to do there though. Didn't move forward from there as the lights took a lot more time than I thought they would.

i managed to sneek in enough time to run the bus wiring for the second of the two layout segments. So now all I need is some foam for the tops, and the pink wonderlands can be mounted to the wall.

    Well ---

Saturday: I didn't feel very motivated --- didn't get anything MRR wise accomplished.

Sunday: Kind of the same. I did tinker with an old SD40-2 ---

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,
    Wolf

Saturday am I did get the door and window openings cut out of the main walls. Also at some point, I cut the north main side awning porch out. I had to drag out some old math, a(squared) + b(squared) = c(squared) to get the porch roof size as right as possible. All fun. :D As of a moment ago, cutting the main porch awning section. This is a wrap around porch awning. Most challenging. More fun. :D

    Very productive weekend.

Thursday didn’t get much done, did get a little bit of structures done

Friday was spent working on structures, installed the sound card in one. The only thing left os to finish the roof in place in the module.

Saturday I did a scratch build after hitting an LHS, I had three engines and three box cars follow me home. I have an idea what the last two module frames I built are going to be. The scratch build is a small 1870’s station. I have a coworker going out on surgery for 6 months plus. He is willing to build a module for me so I drew up some plans for him.

Sunday I finished up all the structures, I now have a small town. I also started the ground foam. The livery stable has a corral.

My accomplishments were not earth shattering but for me they are a big step in getting back into the hobby. I removed the pile of stuff on the work bench and organized it a little. Found the box cars I was working on 10 years ago when everything came to a halt. I have been buying paint and brushes so I went through the paint and selected the colors I will be using to weather them.

On the layout I categorized the boxed rolling stock and put them in storage bins by car type that will go under the layout. I have the tank cars, cabooses, and passenger cars to finish. Need to get the right size storage bins. By doing this I have cleared nearly 75% of the layout from stuff that had been stored on it after the cabinet they were in was damaged. I still have locomotives and rolling stock that does not have boxes to sort and put in cases or boxes.

Unfortunately after clearing things I discovered the layout did suffer some water damage. Luckily it was in an unfinished area so no scenery was destroyed. However, some structures that were stored there are damaged and at least two are probably beyond repair. Throughout the layout there are minor repairs needed such as missing ballast, downed trees, and poles. I expected this as a result of nearly ten years of neglect.

It is going to be awhile before trains run but at least I am again working on it.

We did have some damage from Sandy but that was to trees and the exterior of the house. :D

No, this was caused by a cracked nut on the water feed to the toilet in our upstairs bathroom. Water ran for about three hours. If my FIL had not gotten up at 4 AM it would have run for another hour and a half before I got up. Water was several inches deep in the bathroom. It came through the ceiling of the foyer like Niagara Falls. We had damage to the foyer, dining room, living room, upstairs hallway, upstairs bathroom, and master bedroom. All toll about $40,000.00. Our insurance company low balled us. We had to get a public adjuster involved and finally go to court. While waiting for money a mold problem developed which added another $10,000.00 in costs. We won in court after two years but after fees and etc, we didn't get the full $50,000. Now almost four years from the incident our all work is done except for some finishing touches mostly in the offending bathroom.
