I did get my plans accomplished but missed getting a post up because I am not a good movie maker. At any rate here is a short 4 minute YT vid of my Key Challenger. The movie quality is not the best but I will take to club layout anf get a film of it pulling the Heritage Fleet. This model was made in 1985 and I purchased it used in 2000. It ran flawlessly as DC analog locomotive. I have been re-furbishing for a good year now. The original can motor crapped out so I replaced it with a new one, added NWSL sleeves to the motor shaft, added NWSL u-joints to connect to the worms. Added an ESU LokSound 5 Micro DCC decoder and a new speaker. The eccentric cranks had popped off of both sides on the front engine but a friend repaired that. I have spent 4-5 hours attempting to get the slow speed running the way I like it. Yes, I have some more tweaking, to motor control and sounds, to do. But here is 1st test run.................. Carl, Good job keeping that old loco going. It looks great. Look forward to seeing it with a few cars in tow.
Here is a YT vid that I made today. Keep in mind that this is only the 2nd test run. There are a lot of tweaks to be made to motor control as well as sounds. You will not hear any articulated chuffs as I have that feature turned off to enable setting the slow speed chuffs. When happy, I will set cv250 back on. I apologize for all the background noise.
